TMSS Medical Technology Institute

Overview :

Medical technologists are professionals who work in the hospital laboratory, performing a wide range of tests. Doctors make many of their decisions about diagnosis and treatment of disease based on laboratory test results. It is the responsibility of the medical technologist to provide accurate and precise data. Because they may hold life and death in their hands, the medical technologist must know when results are incorrect and need to be rechecked.
In Bangladesh, the population technologist ratio should be 10,000:1. Bangladesh needs more medical technologists for better health care services. At present, in Bangladesh, there are 20,000 medical technologists. It needs 50000 medical technologists in different fields, like laboratory technologists, dental technologists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, operation theater assistants, and intensive care assistants, to produce more medical technologists in the healthcare sector of Bangladesh. TMTI admits 270 students in 6 categories/courses every year to meet the growing needs of medical technologist in Bangladesh.
TMTI was established in 2007 with the approval of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of people’s republican of Bangladesh.The affiliating authority of TMTI is Bangladesh State Medical Faculty & Bangladesh Pharmacy Council.

Objectives :

To develop cadre of proper medical and clinical staff.
To respond to gradual demand of skilled and efficient Health Technologist in the country.
To develop improved health status of the people.
